A word from our Founder & Principal Designer:
I’ve always felt a deep connection to the ocean, the rhythm of the waves, and the raw beauty of the natural world. My journey began with studies in Environmental Science and Visual Arts—fields that allowed me to explore and express my fascination with nature’s intricate systems and timeless wonders. That foundation continues to shape my perspective, even as I’ve transitioned into the world of Interior Design. Though it may seem like a departure, my approach to design remains rooted in storytelling—creating spaces that reflect personal journeys, lived experiences, and the natural elements that inspire us. For me, design isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s about honoring the environment, the individual, and the stories that shape us.
Caitlin White,
Founder & Principal Designer, RIDQC
Coburn Designs is a full-service interior design studio dedicated to creating homes that feel thoughtful, comfortable, and truly personal. Led by Caitlin White, Principal Designer, RIDQC, the studio brings over seven years of experience working on high-end residential projects, with a process designed to be clear, collaborative, and supportive from start to finish.
Caitlin’s background includes studies at the New York Institute of Art & Design and hands-on experience working closely with design studios and architectural firms. This foundation allows her to guide homeowners with confidence—helping navigate decisions, details, and timelines while always keeping the bigger picture in mind.
Coburn Designs offers a comprehensive range of services, from full interior design and renovation support to furniture and material procurement, styling, and staging. Whether preparing a home for everyday living or thoughtfully curating it for presentation and sale, each layer is handled with care and intention to ensure the final result feels cohesive and complete.
Every project begins with listening to you, the client. At Coburn Designs, interiors are shaped by the way you live and the character of your home rather than a single style or trend. The goal is to create harmony between architecture and interiors—spaces that feel balanced, functional, and welcoming. The result is a home that blends beauty with practicality, tradition with modern living, and feels both elevated and deeply livable.
Caitlin also has a passion for refinishing vintage and antique furniture that is rooted in a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, patience, and the stories carried within well-made pieces. In a world where much of today’s accessible furniture is constructed from particle board or MDF and designed for temporary use, she is drawn to the honesty and longevity of solid-wood furnishings from decades past. Each piece is approached with care and intention—listening to what it has been, respecting its imperfections, and thoughtfully revealing what it can become. This process of restoration, which balances preservation with reinvention, is something she finds both exhilarating and deeply beautiful. The same reverence guides her work in interior design: an attentiveness to materials, proportion, and history, and a belief that spaces—like furniture—are most meaningful when they are layered, intentional, and built to endure.
